About Shaun

The physiotherapist behind Komplete.

Shaun Chew is the founder and principal physiotherapist of Komplete Physiotherapy. He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 2008, and has spent more than fifteen years helping people manage pain, recover from injury, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Shaun's approach

Find the cause, then build it back.

Over the course of his career, Shaun has developed a particular interest in the assessment and treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions, including neck pain, back pain, sciatica, postural dysfunction, and cervicogenic headaches. He enjoys the challenge of understanding what is driving each person's symptoms and creating personalised treatment plans that aim for meaningful, lasting improvement.

His treatment approach combines hands-on manual therapy with targeted functional exercise programs. Manual therapy can help reduce pain and restore movement, and lasting improvement is more likely when strength, mobility, stability, and movement patterns are also built through exercise. By combining these approaches, Shaun helps clients recover from injury and build resilience that reduces the likelihood of recurrence.

At Komplete Physiotherapy, he is committed to providing evidence-based, individualised care in a welcoming and supportive environment. Whether you are dealing with an acute injury, persistent pain, a sporting injury, or simply want to move and function better, he will work with you to develop a treatment plan tailored to your goals and lifestyle.

Shaun is passionate about helping people move with confidence, stay active, and get the most out of daily life.

Background

A career built around listening first.

Shaun's career began in private practice, treating a broad range of acute and chronic conditions with a strong leaning toward hands-on treatment alongside exercise prescription. He also worked extensively with clients under CTP and WorkCover schemes, which gave him a practical understanding of how compensable rehabilitation works in Australia.

That work expanded into aged care, community physiotherapy, and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Working closely with older adults showed him how much physiotherapy can do for independence, balance, and confidence, particularly in the weeks and months after a hospital stay or surgery.

Komplete is the next step. It is the practice Shaun always wanted to run: family-oriented, and rooted in the community it serves.
